The Doctors

We aim to provide the best possible medical care in a safe confidential environment. Here is a brief list of the Doctors in the practice and their special interests.

Dr David Byers (1986) -- Full-time, GP Partner providing general medical services with special interest in Asthma and COPD (m)

Dr Margo Donachie (1994) -- Part-time, GP Partner providing general medical services with a special interest in Women's health (f)​

Dr David Baker (2007) -- Full-time, GP Partner providing general medical services with a special interest in musculoskeletal medicine (m)

Dr Emma Knowles (2012) -- Part-time, GP Partner providing general medical services with a special interest in Women's Health (f)

Dr Eleanor Watson (2019) -- Part-time, GP Partner providing general medical services (f)

Dr Claire Campbell (1994) -- Part-time, GP providing general medical services with an interest in Women's Health and Rheumatology (f)

We are also a training practice for Specialty Doctors who are planning a career in General Practice. At present we have:

Health Care Assistant (HCA)

Lisa Anderson

Our Nurses and HCA are responsible for providing general nursing care, including contraceptive advice, blood pressure clinics, immunisations, health education and screening as well as specialist clinics such as asthma and diabetes.  They can offer advice on weight management, diet and many other health related issues including smoking cessation.  Nursing appointments are available from 8.30am - 5.30 pm.

Our Nurses provide a nurse triage system.  A Nurse will be the first point of contact for any problems that may require attention that day.  The receptionist will take your contact details and a brief outline of the problem and the nurse will phone you back.

Phlebotomists

Rachel Muir & Julie Beck-Samuels

The Phlebotomist is responsible for the taking of all blood samples which are sent to the laboratories in Dumfries Infirmary

Management

Brett Winn -- Practice Manager
Brett is responsible for all non-clinical aspects of running the practice.

Tina McNeil -- Office Manager
Tina is responsible for all reception and administrative staff.

Reception and Adminstration

Receptionists are responsible for helping patients to access appropriate and timely medical services. You will meet our receptionists when you request prescriptions or make appointments

Administration ensure the smooth running of the practice and document flow through the practice.
